Fabryka Wody in Szczecin, the most modern swimming pool and educational complex in Poland, opens its doors today, June 1, on Children's Day. Located in the city center, at Szczaniecka and 1 Maja streets, the facility offers 22 swimming pools, 11 slides and one of the largest saunas in the country.
Built on the site of the historic Gontynka swimming pool, the new water park is a unique place full of attractions for the whole family. I invite you to discover together and enjoy the numerous attractions that are waiting especially for you!
Construction of the Water Factory Water Park
The Water Factory is a huge swimming pool and educational complex, which was built in the very center of Szczecin, and the construction was carried out by Alstal. The investment is located at the intersection of Szczaniecka and 1 Maja streets, becoming the most modern facility of this type in Poland.
The location is not accidental - the complex was built on the site of the historic Gontynka swimming pool and refers directly to it. A river flows through the center of the facility, creating a water cascade, which is possible by using the natural slopes of the terrain.
The water infrastructure created in Szczecin is extremely extensive. The complex offers everything from sports swimming pools, paddling pools and water playgrounds, to waterfall-like infinity pools.
In total, there are as many as 17 internal swimming pools on three floors with a total water surface area exceeding 2,000 m².
The investment included the creation of a recreational swimming pool with a water swing, a volleyball court, climbing nets, a water curtain, hydromassage loungers and underwater geysers. There is also a sports pool with a raised bottom, a VIP recreational pool with a screen, an adventure cave and a multimedia cave, and a rushing river.
Outside the building there are four more swimming pools, including the largest recreational pool, a water playground, a children's paddling pool and an impact pool.
The interior of the hall is equipped with skylights made of ETFE foil, which transmits UV radiation, enabling sunbathing inside the building. The special foil also reduces noise and lowers operating costs.
Spa enthusiasts will be attracted by one of the largest saunas in Poland, with 16 different saunas (desert, castle, fireplace, paradise island, Slavic, marine, volcanic, cinema, hammam and block sauna for children).
The saunarium includes brine graduation towers, cooling pools, snow and ice caves and beer baths.
Fabryka Wody also offers 11 slides with a total length of half a kilometer. The longest - the pontoon slide - is 77 meters long, and other popular ones are the racing slide (59 meters), the "Skocznia Małysza" (29 meters) and the family slide (14 meters).
Next to the swimming pools, an amphitheater and a terrace that turns into an ice rink in winter, in the second wing of the facility there is an educational center whose main theme is water. The center hosts exhibitions and experiments in laboratories.
The sports offer of Fabryka Wody is complemented by a zone with a bowling alley, billiard tables, a climbing wall, a gym and squash courts. The total usable area is just over 17,000 m², with an area of 5 ha.
