The pier in Brzeźno is a wooden pier with a supporting structure made of concrete located in Gdańsk, in the Brzeźno district. It is a unique place that offers beautiful views of the beach and the bay of Gdańsk.

The pier is 136 meters long and 7.2 meters wide and is an extension of Aleja Jana Pawła II. The pier was built between 1993 and 1996 and opened on July 19, 1996. Historically, it is the second pier in this district of Gdańsk, because the first one was liquidated.

The first pier in this part of the city was built in 1900 and was 100 m long. In the interwar years it was extended to 250 meters and 6 meters wide.

The previous pier was located closer to the center of the Brzeźno district, in a place that today is called "Budami" because of the large number of small eateries.

Zaspa Pier or Brzeźno Pier?

Interestingly, the current pier is often called the pier in Zaspa. This is a dispute understood mainly by the locals, the "Zaspa pier" is called so because it is like an extension of Jana Pawła II avenue which runs entirely through the Zaspa district.

Never less, the pier itself and the adjacent area are located within the plot belonging to the Brzeźno district. Thus, the correct and official name is "Brzeźno Pier".
